Love List

Planting: I found plant heaven this week (see above) at Bedford Greenhouses here in Augusta. It’s tucked way back in this neighborhood, but once you pull in, it’s magical. They have multiple greenhouses, tons of plants lined up outside, a pond with a quack house (for ducks!) and tons of beautiful vases and plant containers inside. I brought home this little cutie for my desk and also these. So now I have a full succulent planter – I hope it survives (cross your fingers for me!) And, I’m hoping to go back to Bedford and take some real (aka DSLR) pictures soon, so I’ll probably give it a whole post :)

Saving for Later: This lovely collection of free fonts (aren’t free fonts your favorite!?) and this simple tip on how to mix different kinds of fonts!

Downloading: I just made this beautiful cactus illustration by Helen Dealtry and made it my desktop background. You can find all the different wallpaper sizes here, an thanks to Design*Sponge for the great roundup of wallpapers!

Baking: So, I’ve been dropping hints here and there that I recently went gluten free, so I’ve been experimenting a little bit with gluten-free baking, trying to substitute gluten free flour for the regular flour in recipes. Last week I tried cupcakes, and they didn’t turn out so well. They were ok, but B and I could definitely taste a texture difference. Sad :(  Then, on Saturday, I tried this Greek Yogurt Coffee Cake, and, it turned out amazing! I could not tell the difference at all. I’ll be posting more about exactly how I changed the recipe later this week, so stayed tuned!

Buying: I just bought this sundress (in pink) at Hollister and it is so adorable, and also fairly comfortable. Plus it’s on sale right now, so you may want to check it out. (side note, my cousin told me I’m too old to shop at Hollister, but, this dress was super cute, and on sale, so I pooh-poohed her and bought it anyway)

Printing: “Bloom Where You’re Planted”. I love those colorful, delicate flowers, and of course the saying. It reminds me to use what I have to succeed, and bloom, where I am.

Well, Happy Saint Patrick’s Day loves! Are you wearing green? Are you making corned beef? I wish I was, but B doesn’t like it, so no corned beef for us. I may make some bourbon glazed salmon instead. I hope the week ahead brings you happiness, and I’d love to know what’s on your “love list” right now :)
